Officer bitten by dog

A Portland Police officer was bitten by a dog Tuesday morning while they were conducting routine wake-up calls for people sleeping under the Morrison Bridge.

They were sleeping along Naito Parkway and the wake-up calls are conducted daily.

A dog running loose attacked and bit an officer causing a minor injury. Several people became combative with officers, who deployed pepper spray in the course of making two arrests.

The dog has been taken by Multnomah County Animal Control.
